The Environment

Australia like many other countries in the world is concerned about the effects of Global warming.

The Greenhouse Effect as it is commonly called is one of today's most pressing worldwide scientific concerns. Failure by the human population to address the problem could lead to the earth being an uninhabitable planet.

The main greenhouse gases generated by human activity are carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide. These gases have always been with us acting as a blanket trapping heat which maintains temperatures that support human habitation. While these gases trap varying amounts of heat, without them the earth would be permanently in deep freeze with average temperatures around minus 18 degrees celsius. However, when the atmosphere is polluted with too many greenhouse gases too much heat is trapped and the world gets hotter.

How can we help reduce Greenhouse gas emissions?

One of the main sources of Greenhouse gas is the motor vehicle.
Because a large proportion of the population of Australia tends to be concentrated in cities located on the eastern coastline it is in these cities that we encounter most of our air pollution.

Australia is a vast continent with long distances between the major population centres so we have grown up with a reliance on motor vehicles as a means of transport for moving goods and people. However, we can no longer continue to ignore the effect that our transport needs have on the environment as a whole.

Taking the alternative fuel route.

One way the average citizen can contribute to reducing the Greenhouse impact on our environment is to turn to using an alternative fuel in their motor vehicle.

Today the majority of motor vehicles operate on petrol or diesel fuel. Vehicles using these fuels emit significantly more pollutants than an alternative fuel such as Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG).

TAKE AN ALTERNATIVE FUEL ROUTE AND SAVE BOTH MONEY AND THE ENVIRONMENT
